Plum Creek Names New Vice Presidents

SEATTLE, Sep 5, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Plum Creek Timber Company, Inc.(NYSE:PCL) today named three new vice presidents.
Brent L. Stinnett, 54, was promoted to the newly created post of Vice Presidentand General Manager, Southwest Region. Stinnett will report to Mike Covey,Executive Vice President. Stinnett's responsibilities will cover the managementof the Company's 2.5 million acres of Southern timberlands from central Alabamawest to Texas. Stinnett has 27 years of professional forestry and managementexperience with Plum Creek. He is a graduate of Oregon State University with adegree in forest engineering.
Thomas M. Reed, 53, was promoted to the newly created post of Vice President andGeneral Manager, Southeast Region. Reed will also report to Mr. Covey. Reed'sresponsibilities will include the management of Plum Creek's 1.9 million acresof timber ownership from central Alabama east to the Atlantic seaboard. Reed has29 years of professional forestry and management experience, the past two yearswith Plum Creek. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree inforest management.
Larry D. Neilson, 43, has joined Plum Creek in the newly created post of VicePresident, Real Estate. Neilson will report to Tom Lindquist, Executive VicePresident -- Real Estate and Strategic Business Development. Hisresponsibilities will entail the identification of higher and better use landsand non-core properties in our asset portfolio and he will also be involved inthe Company's other real estate projects. Neilson brings 20 years of real estateexperience to Plum Creek, including long-term planning, knowledge of real estatepartnerships and ventures, and service provider contracting. Most recently,Neilson was responsible for Microsoft Corporation's Global Real Estate,Facilities and Corporate Services. He graduated from Brigham Young Universitywith a degree in accounting.
