Robert B. McLeod Joins Plum Creek Board of Directors

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 2004--Plum Creek TimberCompany, Inc. (NYSE:PCL) today announced that Robert B. McLeod hasjoined the company's board of directors.
"Bob's business background and real estate experience will beinvaluable to Plum Creek," said Rick Holley, president and chiefexecutive officer. "We are pleased to attract such an accomplishedindividual to our board."
Since 1987, McLeod has served as chairman of the board and chiefexecutive officer of Newland Communities. In this role, he isresponsible for all residential and commercial activities in theUnited States, which have included 65 master-planned communities andother residential development projects in 14 states.
McLeod was previously employed by Genstar Land - U.S.A., NewlandCommunities' predecessor company, where he served in a variety ofroles including president and chief executive officer. In this role,he oversaw all residential and commercial development activities inthe United States, including 20 master-planned communities in fivestates.
McLeod holds a bachelor of science degree in businessadministration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Plum Creek is one of the largest land and timber owners in thenation, with approximately 8 million acres of timberlands in majortimber producing regions of the United States and 10 wood productsmanufacturing facilities in the Northwest.
