SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2005--Plum Creek Timber Company,Inc. (NYSE:PCL) named Larry Neilson to the newly created post ofSenior Vice President, Planning and Business Development.

Neilson, previously Vice President, Real Estate at Plum Creek,will report directly to Plum Creek President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer Rick Holley.

In his new position, Neilson, 46, will be responsible for thecompany's strategic planning and business development functions,including acquisitions, divestitures and joint venture structuring.

Neilson joined Plum Creek as Vice President, Real Estate in 2002.In this role, he oversaw land development, joint ventures withthird-party developers, and sales of unique properties. Prior tojoining Plum Creek, he served in a variety of real estate positions atMicrosoft Corporation including General Manager, Worldwide Real Estate& Facilities. He has also served as Vice President and Director ofFinance & Acquisitions for Skinner Development Company, and Director,Real Estate Acquisitions at Equitec Properties Company, a real estatesyndication firm. Neilson earned a bachelor of science degree inaccounting from Brigham Young University.
