Weyerhaeuser Announces 2012 Hours of Operation for the Forest Learning Center

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) today announced the 2012 hours of operation for the Charles W. Bingham Forest Learning Center at Mount St. Helens.

The Forest Learning Center will open its doors for the 2012 season on Friday, May 11. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the days the Visitor Center is open.  Admission is free to the general public.

  • During the opening month (May 11 - June 10), the Center will only be open Friday - Sunday.
  • Starting with the weekend of June 15 through Labor Day, September 3, the Center will be open Friday - Monday.
  • The indoor exhibits will also be available on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28 and Wednesday, July 4.

In addition, the gift shop, restrooms, and Center's outdoor facilities will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. The Washington State Department of Transportation rest area hours will mirror the hours of operation for the gift shop.

The Charles W. Bingham Forest Learning Center is located inside the blast zone of the May 18, 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens on state Route 504. It is a partnership between Weyerhaeuser Company, Washington State Department of Transportation and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
