Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation Announces Request for Proposal

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., June 4, 2010 Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation is seeking funding opportunities to support strong programs that provide affordable housing and shelter to families in Weyerhaeuser’s Headquarters communities in King and Pierce County, Washington – Application Deadline: September 1, 2010.

 

Weyerhaeuser’s communities throughout the United States range from rural to metropolitan, with unique priorities and needs.  The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has established a Community Giving Framework that offers flexibility for a variety of giving to support these diverse communities. The focus areas within the Foundation’s Community Giving Framework are described in detail in the Foundation’s website at http://www.weyerhaeuser.com/Foundation.

For 2010, in the metropolitan Headquarters Region, the Foundation is specifically seeking grant applications in the Affordable Housing and Shelter Focus, to provide affordable housing for working families, enable homeless families to achieve permanent, stable housing, or effectively keep families in their homes and prevent them from becoming homeless.  The Request for Proposal is available at http://www.weyerhaeuser.com/pdfs/sustainability/foundation/RequestForProposal.pdf.
