Liebich assumes his new role on Feb. 18. Denig will serve in a consulting role until his retirement and will work with Liebich to ensure a seamless transition with key customers and suppliers.

Liebich joined Trus Joist in 1994 as a corporate finance manager. Since then he has worked in customer support, industrial operations, commercial operations, marketing, and strategic planning. He served as vice president, Commercial Operations at Trus Joist before assuming his new position of vice president, Trus Joist for Weyerhaeuser.

Denig retires after more than 30 years at Trus Joist. He served as president of Trus Joist from 1990 prior to Weyerhaeuser's acquisition of the company in 2000. Since then he has led Weyerhaeuser's Engineered Lumber business.

"Through the dedication and leadership of Tom, Trus Joist became the industry leader in the production of engineered lumber," said Lee Alford, Weyerhaeuser senior vice president, Residential Wood Products. "He leaves behind a strong company and a talented organization. Kurt Liebich is one of our talented young leaders. His dynamic leadership will build on Tom's work, and help Trus Joist become an even stronger contributor to Weyerhaeuser's success."

Liebich holds a master in business administration from Harvard University. He serves on the board of directors for the Charitable Leadership Foundation, Optiframe® Software, and the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the advisory board of Highway 12 Venture Capital Firm.
