The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has made an initial donation of $100,000 to CARE's Asia Quake Disaster fund. In addition, the foundation will match up to $100,000 in Weyerhaeuser employee donations to CARE for a potential total donation of $300,000. Weyerhaeuser will also seek opportunities to partner with its customers to donate products for long-term relief efforts.

"Devastation of this magnitude is an overwhelming and unfathomable loss to humanity," says Liz Crossman, president, Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation and director of Corporate Contributions. "Our hearts are with those who are suffering, and those who have lost their homes, their livelihood and their loved ones."

CARE's emergency relief efforts consist of providing environmental assessments for shoreline community restoration and items such as food, water purification tablets, soaps, shelter materials, basic medical supplies and cooking supplies.
