Corbin will take on management responsibilities for Weyerhaeuser Forestlands International, Weyerhaeuser Asia and European Wood Products. As well, he will continue to be responsible for Northwest Hardwoods, the British Columbia Coastal Group and Composites. Corbin joined Weyerhaeuser from International Paper in 1992 to become executive vice president, Wood Products. He also held the position executive vice president, Timberlands, from 1995 to 1998.
"Aligning our wood products businesses to target market segments will enhance our ability to effectively deliver products and services to all our customers," said Steven R. Rogel, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "At the same time, this move supports our strategy to continue growing internationally by aligning international Wood Products and Timberlands operations under one leader.
"Both Bill and Lee are outstanding leaders with a vision of where we need to evolve to enhance our ability to compete in the global marketplace," Rogel said. "This new structure also supports our efforts to build tomorrow's team by creating opportunities and continuity in executive succession planning."
