Weyerhaeuser Names Risco VP – International Operations

FEDERAL WAY, Wash., January 30, 2009 Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY) today announced that Marvin (Ray) Risco has been named vice president-International Operations effective Jan. 26.

In his new role, Risco will oversee Weyerhaeuser’s existing international operations. In addition, he will be the focal point to support the company in current and new ventures. Risco also has shared responsibilities with the controller’s office for corporate oversight of the international operations.

He will report directly to Mike Branson, senior vice president – Timberlands.

“Ray’s experience in many aspects of our business is an important element given the sharper focus we are developing in South America and other geographies,” Branson said. “We will look to Ray’s experience and knowledge as we continue to grow Weyerhaeuser’s international operations.”

A native of Peru, Risco most recently was managing director of the company’s South American operations while residing in Uruguay. Risco joined the Weyerhaeuser Forestlands International team in 1998 after working for the Gillette Co. in Latin America and Europe. In the following years, he was involved in the planning, development and management of the Latin American and Austral Asian businesses as well as providing financial leadership for the company’s European composites business and Hardwoods and International Products.
