Weyerhaeuser Names Taylor Vice President, Softwood Lumber; Arend to Become Vice President, Appearance Wood Business

Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY) today announced leadership changes in its Wood Products business. Robert Taylor has been named vice president, Softwood Lumber and Nancy Arend will succeed him in the role of vice president, Appearance Wood Business.

Taylor's role became effective Aug. 2. He reports to Lee T. Alford, senior vice president, Residential Wood Products. Arend's role becomes effective Oct. 4. She will report to William R. Corbin, executive vice president, Industrial Wood Products and International.

Taylor started his career in 1976 at the Everett, Wash., softwood complex. He moved to Northwest Hardwoods in 1985 and became vice president of that business in 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington State University.

Arend started her career with Weyerhaeuser in the Marketing and Economic Research group in 1980 and joined the Containerboard Packaging business in 1986. She has held the position of vice president, Pacific Northwest Region for Containerboard since 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from University of Puget Sound.
