FEDERAL WAY, Wash., July 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE: WY) today announced its board of directors has elected Devin Stockfish corporate secretary for the company. The appointment was effective July 1, 2013. Stockfish will continue to serve as assistant general counsel and his practice includes corporate governance, securities law compliance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance matters.

Stockfish succeeds Claire Grace, who will remain assistant general counsel until her planned retirement on Aug. 16. Grace was Weyerhaeuser's corporate secretary from 2000 to June 30, 2013.

Before joining Weyerhaeuser, Devin Stockfish was vice president & associate general counsel at Univar Inc. where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities law. Prior to Univar, he was an attorney in the securities & corporate law group at Starbucks Corporation and practiced corporate law at K&L Gates LLP. He received a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado.

Claire Grace joined Weyerhaeuser in 1997, became corporate secretary and assistant general counsel in 2000, and was named a vice president in 2007. She has been a securities lawyer since 1986, focusing on corporate securities and finance, compliance with securities laws, public disclosure, mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, corporate law, and contract law.  Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser, Grace was vice president and associate counsel at Washington Mutual Bank, a securities and finance lawyer with Perkins Coie LLP, and served as administrative law clerk to Judge Eugene Wright, United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Grace received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Law, and holds a Masters in History from Goddard College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
